I want to load win98se on a Compaq Presario. When I attempt to do so I get a message saying two .dll files are in use and that I can overwrite them or close the programs using the files. I presume theses files are associated with the Compaq format. I have attempted to get resolution from Compaq but get NO REPLY. I want to keep the Compaq format if possible.
    Any help?
    Thanks

    Hiya

Do you know the names of the two .dll's that are coming up? Also, what version OS do you currently have on this Compaq, or do you know the version of PC that you are using?

    Regards

bigsooner: Are you using the Compaq "QuickRestore" 2 CD set that you must purchase from them for $10.00?

If you are just trying to use the "out of box" WIN98SE .... Good Luck! The drivers will not load properly & your device manager will be a picture of exclamation marks!

I am NOT referring to the RESTORE CD that comes with the Presario! The QuickRestore is Compaq's propriatary version of WIN98SE!

    Please Advise!
