Is it legal to install XP corporate edition when you have purchased a different version of windows xp? Our IT technician said it is legal to install corperate edition as long as you havd a legal windows product key.

Microsoft Enterprise licensing can get pretty complicated. There's no way for us to know what your company purchased or didn't purchase.

You're talking about using a corporate installation. Whether or not that's legal depends on that company's agreement with Microsoft.
