    Hi,

I am experiencing a very slow start up. Once time has been given for start up, the laptop appears to run ok but I am wondering if I have lots of unnecessary handshaking going on.

There are wga logon and win update lines in the HJT log and I am looking to see if

    a) I have a problem that needs cleaning out or,
    b) I can pare down the some unnecessary 'auto downloads' for Symantec or Win Update that I can manually do at my own leisure (I am ok at performing searches for updates.

    Thanks in advance.
