After experincing an abundence of higher-than-normal pings for my DSL connection, and overall performace loss, I noticed that I have 2 svchost.exes running under my task manager. When my machine is pinged, it returns a double ping... I do not have access to 'end process' of either of the svchosts, and obviously restarting does not solve the problem. Any help?
    thanks.
PS, does anyone know the file windows uses to determine the proccess that startup during..startup? I could edit that or replace it with one from a windows 2k disc.....thanks.

It's normal to have four instances of scvhost running at any one time...
