I run Win2K Pro; recent install. Oustanding OS, by the way. In my C:/WINNT/INSTALLER Folder are a bunch of .MSI & several .MST files. I know the .MSI are installer files. Should I leave them alone or can I delete them without doing any harm? They appear related to my HP All-in-one printer/scanner/fax/copier.

Just what sort of chaff is it safe to get rid of?

I also have over two dozen Service Pack and Hotfix folders in C:/WINNT that are there in case I want to uninstall SP 4 or any Hotfixes or Updates. Should I keep these too? SP 4 takes up about 168MB by itself.

The Folders are named like:

$NTUninstallKB820888$ ...along with a bunch of others.

Okay, your suggestion is fine for the general junk, which I get rid of regularly.

What about the specifics in my post?

Okay, thanks. I'll let sleeping dogs lie. This problem is solved/closed as far as I'm concerned.
