    Hi There,
As you can see by my thread title, I've been infected with a bunch of things. I ran an AVG scan and it ended up showing 19 different threats. Aside from these viruses, trojans called BackDoor.Generic11.HUH,SHeur2.ADCYs and Vundo.GK were also on the list. The 19 items were moved to the vault and the computer restarted.

Upon restarting, there is a wallpaper that is from the virus saying my computer has been infected and that I should clean it.

In the system tray there is a red circle with a white 'X' in it. Every minute or so during the AVG scan it would pop-up and say I had a virus and I should use spyware cleaners to clean it.

Opening My Computer etc is very slow and I can not update my AVG definitions. Just after completing a HJT scan I recieved the dreaded blue screen that said 'A threard tried to release a resource it did not own'.

I have included below my HJT log. If you could provide me with any assistance I would greatly appreciate it. I have the latest AVG Free and have no idea how I got so badly infected. I considered a format, but I have not backed-up in a while. Is there a way to recover my data?

I am sorry for the lengthy response. I wanted to provide you with as much detail as possible.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Info Update:

I downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware after which i was able to remove quite a few files. I was able to restore my wallpaper and can now use system restore.

However, I am still unable to update my virus definitions for AVG or any other AV program. I am currently running a super anti spyware scan and will post the log for it and a HJT log as soon as it is done.

I will run scans again, however the issue of not being able to go on the internet still remains. I can't even go to google or my home page let alone get updates for the AV programs.

Could this issue be related to the viruses?

    Hi There,
I just worked out today that the USB/SD media card reader aren't working on my laptop either. I put an SD card in and the system did not pick it up. Similarly to the mouse, I had to plug and unplug it before registered.

I am still unable to get onto the internet despite my computer telling me I have been connected to our home wireless network.

Finally, I run the Google Desktop application and I keep getting error messages that say the program was unable to work properly. I am assuming this is because it can't access the internet - again maybe cause of the viruses?

I am sorry to trouble you and I know you are all busy, but I am really desperate to get my computer up and running again as I have an assignment on there that needs to be uploaded...

I know you are only volunteers and spend your spare time here and I am most grateful to you all.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,
I'm starting to think that perhaps I should just format my computer? I really don't want to, but I have tried scans and all these things to no avail. For some reason I just can't get on the internet at all.

USB sticks appear when I plug them in, however when I put in a SD card I still get nothing.

Just before all the viruses came by cd drive was messing up as well. I could access files on a cd, however I could not burn a cd. In nero and Power ISO the cd drive did not even show. Like it wasn't even recognised... Are all these things related?

I don't know what else to do...

    Hi,
I ended up just formatting my computer as it was time for a clean anyway.

    Thanks.
