    Hi,

I have avast antivirus and it has kept telling me that I have a trojan horse and that I should delete or move to chest. But it doesn't really delete it and the warning comes back up. I have the following two trojans but I can't remove them and I don't know how bad they are. Do I really have a nasty trojan or is it avast that is not detecting right? It hasn't done anything that I can tell yet, but I guess someone could be hijacking my comp right now huh?! Here is my HJT log in case you might need it. Thank you in advance.

    Viruses detected:
    Win32:Trojano-307 [Trj]
    Win32: Trojano-1048 [Trj]

Well, I will give you the exact name and location the next time it finds it...I can't seem to find the name of the virus in the log...Avast IS a free antivirus afterall! I am running the virus recovery database generator to see if that will help or pull up the last virus...I honestly can't find the virus log for this avast. I will post when I get more details. Thanks

    Hi,

To my own fault I have visited a torrent site where I may have got some nasty bugs. My avast antivirus is going crazy with different things it detects that are Win32 Trojans. Also my web browser has been reconfigured with new folders in my favorites like. Finances and Business Health and Insurance Homelife and Travel Casino and Adult The folders have a ton of links inside.

Also my homepage was changed to google.com

Here is one of the viruses that Avast found and its location Win32:Trojan-gen. {Other} at :\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\bs556.tmpbsx32\dr10.exe. It also found Win32:Trojano-1096 [Trj], but I couldn't copy its location. I will post the others as it detects it.

Also, can you recommend any software that I can buy or DL to protect me or settings on IE that would protect me better? Thanks

    Here is my HJT log.

Click Here and download the the new version of Killbox and save it to your desktop.

Go here to download and install CCleaner
    Do not use it yet.

Click here for info on how to boot to safe mode if you don't already know how.

Copy these instructions to notepad and save them to your desktop. Sign off the internet and remain offline til all of the following has been completed.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close ALL windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Boot to safe mode and use killbox to delete this file:

    C:\WINDOWS\exdl.exe

    Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
    Restart your computer.

Go here and do an online virus scan.

When the scan is finished, anything that it cannot clean have it delete it. Make a note of the file location of anything that cannot be deleted so you can delete it yourself.

When you are sure you are clean turn System Restore back on and create a restore point.

    To create a restore point:

Single-click Start and point to All Programs.
Mouse over Accessories, then System Tools, and select System Restore.
In the System Restore wizard, select the box next the text labeled "Create a restore point" and click the Next button.
Type a description for your new restore point. Something like "After trojan/spyware cleanup". Click Create and you're done.
