I have windows 2000 on a compaq laptop. "Armada" style.
I have noticed that when I start it up it lockes up 4 or 5 times before finally working. Then once I get it to work , it is still very slow. I found that if I press ctrl alt del and look at the task manager, something called WIN32SL.exe is running 94 - 99 % of the processor. I believe this is the problem. Can anyone tell me what this is , and how to fix it . THANKS !! Ken

You can safely disable this. I am not certain where it is running from, but you can download startup control panel for Windows 2000 which will help you locate it.
