I have tried the following on 2 new HP printers installing from CD, dwnld file, or UPnP (USB) with the same results. Win7 says the ptr dvrs were installed OK and the "device is ready for use." The icon is visible on the ctrl pnl and all options show on a r-click. But when I try to print a test page I get msg that the drivers are not installed with an error 0x00000057. Can anyone help me fix this? Or should I just resort to a small amount of C-4? (-:

Quite a few Google Search hits with that same problem. Usually the last message is the correct one, the drivers haven't actually been installed despite the okay message. Unplug all uneccessary peripherals, disconnect the printer's USB cable, re-install printer driver and only connect the USB cable when it tells you it's okay to do so.
