I recently upgraded win98 to win98se. All went well, no error messages. When I right click 'my computer' and display properties it has win98se with the correct version number listed. I downloaded the new windows mediaplayer 9, which needs win98se or above, and tried to install. It says I need win98se or above. I also tried to install the unauthorized win98se sp2. It says I need win98se. I am confused. Can anyone help? Thanks ;)

If you did upgrade to 98SE, the System properties box should show version 4.10.2222 in the General tab instead of 4.10.1998.

It beats me why it's telling you that you need to install 98SE.
