window mail > please help

    i reformatted my vista and i saved everything in the c:\user\owner(my username)
    now i'm trying to restore all my mails and addresses
    do i first need to reset my email account to import all my mails and address
    right now i haven't set-up my window mail, i just want to import all my mail from microsoft\window mail folder and it does not recognizes any of the files (or folder) in there
    please help
