I am running a PII 266 w/ 64mb ram. MY old computer was about the same speed but i didn't have the problem i'm having now.... I recently but Win ME on and when i went to run Windows Media PLayer i couldn't watch Divx Movies so after running around and getting the Divx codec 3.1 (or 4.1 or something like that) I am now able to hear the movie in real time and see the video (which i previously could not see) only it is lagging horribly. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling WMP but to no avail. Do i need a new codec? On my older computer i was using Divx Codec 2.0 Alpha and it ran Divx movies on WMP just fine.

    Please Help me!
    Jason

Also windows ME uses media player version 7 which is more resource hogging. Version 6.4 is till there in windows explorer, C, program files, windows media player, (media player 2).
Uses less resources, see if that will play it. You'll have to go into the tools, options, formats of that player to select that this player plays that type of file by default.
