    Welcome to TSG!
I don't know of anywhere you can DL Win98, but you should be able to DL the driver.
Go to the Sound card manufacture's website and look for the newest driver for your card.
Save it somewhere easy to get to, then when it asks for the driver, point it to that file.

Let us know if you need help with this.

You cannot download Win98. If you have your documentation and CD-Key you might be able to get a replacement. YOu might also try looking on your hard drive for a folder named cabs. Some OEM installation install the Windows cab files to the C:\windows\options\cabs folder and if it is there just point your driver installation to that location when it asks for the CD.

Hi! No way you should have to reinstall Windows, as others posted up above- what the Hardware Wizard wants you to do is either put the driver disk (which you may have forgotten you have somewhere) into Drive D:, and change the buttons to D: drive, and hit OK....if you have no disk, but have downloaded and RUN TO INSTALL the driver program.....you can select "Have Disk" to browse TO the folder the drivers have installed TO.
The Windows CD does not contain all drivers for all sound cards or other devices....you have to know where they are located, sometimes you can look around the C: drive and find a folder named after the brand of sound card- it depends on who set the system up, has worked on it, etc.
Hope this helps- keep asking questions if you need to, that's what we do here!

    Byteman,

No one is suggesting Tammoch reinstall windows.

I read it as windows is asking for the install cd during the driver install.

If you don't HAVE one, you will have to borrow/buy one. Not much other choice.

jtoast and bassetman-----The poster-, by saying they wanted to download win98. And , Rockn- read his post, talking about the poster possibly "getting a replacement" copy of Windows to apparently, install. And the sound driver reinstall is what I was talking about, too- , "What the Hardware Wizard wants to see...." geez, I answered the poster- not you two.
EDIT- Now I see what may have confused the thing= I did put a plural, others, in my reply.....should have just put Rockn's name I guess....bassetman, was not referring to ya! Jtoast- you hadnt replied, so of course did not mean anything posted by yourself, either- just the poster and rockn...I think my reply is plain enough about just doing the sound.
