After uninstalling classic shell screen locked up. I turned off pc, powered back on very slow pc requested pass word. I entered it. Screen went dark continues to show cursor, curser can be moved. Task manager comes up indicates task manager is running.

I have an ASUS SSD Laptop

I am writing this on my iPhone 10s Max

If Task Manager is running, click on File, Run new task, and then enter explorer.exe. Give it a few to see if the desktop appears. If it won't, power down fully by holding the power button. Once that's done, press the power button to turn on the laptop, and then hold the button down until it turns off automatically . Do this twice more and then you should see Preparing Automatic Repair screen.

This will get you to the Troubleshooting screen, and I would suggest loading a System Restore point from there.
