    Hello, here is our system information:

    Processor Count: 4
    RAM: 3521 Mb
    Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 8200 / R3 Series, 512 Mb
    Hard Drives: C: 149 GB (86 GB Free); D: 297 GB (297 GB Free);
    Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., K30BD
    Antivirus: Windows Defender, Enabled and Updated

    What has occurred: All we know is that we heard some notification alert sounds from this machine and my wife came over to it, checked notifications on the bottom right of screen. She cleared all the notifications and then she said the screen blinked on and then off and next thing we know is the Windows desktop has completely changed. Desktop icons are gone, Task bar icons disappeared, but I was able to restore those. Shortcuts to programs are now showing as Life at a glance. The strangest part is there is a windows icon on the bottom left that does nothing and there is a back arrow to the right of it. Applications seem to act strange, they don't always open or close like normal. I can't always reopen the same browser session etc. I have taken a screen shot of the desktop as it is now.

    Could this be a virus? or is it some Windows setting that got changed?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
