I bought a hp desktop off Amazon with windows 7 pro installed, ran fine no issues whatsoever, since the word came out windows 7 is being put out to pasture next year, I went ahead an upgraded to windows 10 pro on the same desktop. Issue no.1 after the standard several minutes of computer inactivity, it went to "sleep", upon waking the computer I can hear it attempt to boot up , then 5 , 10 minutes later no logon screen, froze completely, upon having to shutdown the desktop whenever I want to logon, the upgrade was not an issue, preformed flawlessly. Issue no.2 after several weeks of trouble shooting I stumbled upon a fix when I removed my 2gb graphics card.. the logon screen came up like it was supposed to every time.

Question How do I get the best of both worlds with leaving my new graphics card in place and having the logon screen come up like its supposed to ?? without having to shut it down whenever I want to logon?

You can try putting the graphics card back in, then go to Control Panel > Device Manager, Find the graphics adapter driver, right click and choose Update driver. That will fetch the latest compatible driver for that device from MS. Hope that works.

What is the model name, model number, and serial number of the HP machine?

If you do not have that information on the machine you can get it by going into Command Prompt and type the following commands:

    wmic computersystem get "Model","Manufacturer"

    wmic bios get serialnumber

Also what is the video card name/model number?
