windows 2000 pro slow start-up

    why would my wifes computer running windows 2000 pro be very slow to start-up and more importantly what can be done about it

    hi peteg welcome to T.S.G.
    because of the amount of drivers 2k/xp load on startup its noticably slower than its predecessors.
    but you can trim the boot time down a little by hitting "start"/type "msconfig"....hit the startup tab.anything you recognise that you dont really need starting on boot up just un-check and click apply.
