    Hello,

For the last few months I've been sitting on my ***, just ignoring the fact that I was running Windows 7 on the classic Win98 theme, which kind of bothers me and, now that I am in need of Aero, it does not work. I have done every damn thing I could find in the internet, I downloaded programs, I worked with RegEdit. Nothing. Nothing worked. Here's how I lost Aero: I was using AVG TuneUp Utilities to clean up my computer and get it straight and, well, it cleaned up Aero, I lost it completely, the theme choosing on the Control Panel is greyed out, I can't choose them.

    Please help.

im not sure why you lost aero but is there a setting in avg tuneup to do with performance and aero themes, and have you right clicked on your desktop and choose personalize and then choose a aero theme

    hope this helps

Bruno, make sure the Themes service is running:

Control Panel > Administrative > Services.
