My laptop came installed with vista orginally but I upgraded to windows 7 later on, well the hard drive crashed and I installed a new one. I cant get the computer to boot from the windows 7 64 bit disk. I made a recovery disk for the computer when I first got it and it will not boot from that either. I done a hard drive test and a momery test and boot passed, I copied the windows 7 dist to a usb drive and tried to boot that way and failed also, any help?

Do you get any indication that the system is reading the disc when you boot it up. Do you see a message saying "To boot from the CD hit any key"?

If not, you need to boot into your Bios and set the CD or USB to 1st in the boot order.
