I have an external usb hard drive (2tb I think) that I ran Microsoft scan disk on I (right click the drive in my computer then tools etc.)
Option to automatically fix errors was checked.
Before the scan I could access the drive and files but was having problems with a certain program so I decided to run the scan. It said it found errors and fixed them from what I saw it didn't look like it recovered any corrupt data files but must of fixed something else.

Now it says I need to format the drive I said NO but now it just hangs if I try to open the drive right click on the drive etc. What is the best way to save my data from getting lost?

    Thanks

How important is your data? Some free apps will get some back. You can Google them. I have used GetDataBack For some time and have much success with it. Around $80. So if it is important, pay the price. up to you.
