Morning from not so sunny London UK,

I bought a Dell laptop yesterday with windows 7. Now then, as you know on the desktop it has a bar that has icons on it i.e. pictures, music, internet etc. When I started my laptop this morning, it has disappeared. I can't remember what it is called to do a search to get it back. Can you help?

Some of the different OEM's add in different "Tools" to help their customers. I have NOT seen a NEW out of the box Dell in a LONG time, so I am not sure what you are asking about. But I do know that Sony adds in a toolbar some what like you stated and it can not be removed, and we are looking for a way to do it.

You do have the set of icons to the right of the "Start" button right?
If so, then this is the "Taskbar.

Is it the 'task bar' on the bottom of the screen that you're missing? Go into your control panel and click on "Taskbar and Start Menu". Uncheck 'hide' if it's checked.

Hey Johanne,
I just got off the phone with dell support and the bar is called Dell Dock, and if it cant be recovered by going to Start.. All Programs.. Dell.. Dell Dock.. enable all, then you will need to go to delldock.com and redownload the toolbar to your computer. If none of these things help you can always call dell support and they will help you figure it out!
