I know that this is a fairly common problem but I haven't been able to solve this issue for quite sometime. I did SuperAntiSpyware scans, MalwareBytes Scans, nothing changed. It's most notable when I'm using Chrome that it freezes a lot or when I'm playing music. I'm thinking it's more of a hardware issue then software but I hope it's software so that I won't need to change parts. Recently, the freezes has gotten worse, usually it just jams the application now it is everything.

    This is the HijackThis log:

Trend Micro HiJackThis 2.0.5 is several years old and doesn't work properly with a 64-bit version of Windows, so your log is pretty much useless.

It does show though that your computer has numerous running processes, so that may be contributing to it.

Google Chrome is known to be system-hungry, so having several websites open at the same time may also be contributing to it.

Hm. But is this to be expected from my system? I don't think that my system is that outdated right?

I'm not there to see your computer and don't know what's installed in it and how you use it, so there could be several reasons for your performance/freezing issues.

Well, most of the time a lot of tabs opened in Chrome and MusicBee for music. Then, often times I'll be on Dota with all of these opened. And I have Process Lasso on as well.

chrome is a known resource hog, DOTA is resource hungry as well.

Honestly? This is exactly why I quit chrome and went back to firefox.

Yeah, I've known about Chrome's hunger but I didn't think it would affect my system to this extent. Damn. And yes, I have my Firefox as a back up.

Give FF a shot for a few days, monitor your resources, and let us know what you find. Pretty sure you will find that chrome was the issue. Take a look at http://forums.techguy.org/all-other-software/1141348-chrome-using-up-too-much.html.

finally, go here, then click the large blue "Download Now @ Bleeping Computer" button to download and save AdwCleaner.exe to your desktop.

Close all open windows first, then double-click AdwCleaner.exe to load its main window.

Click the Scan button, then allow the scanning process to finish.
(Note: There may be several seconds delay before the progress bar appears, so be patient.)

    Click the Report button.

When the log appears, save it.

Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE log here.

There's no report button, just that it's waiting for action to delete two services shown, but I haven't done anything yet.

I went ahead and moved it to the virus section. Please be patient and wait for a shielded member to come by and ask for some details.

    thanks,

The previous versions of AdwCleaner had Scan and Clean and Report buttons.

The current versions now have Scan and Cleaning and Logfile buttons.

Your thread has been moved to the "Virus & Other Malware Removal" section.

I have no authority or training to help you here, so you need to wait for a gold shield removal specialist to reply.

That's one reason why your computer has slowed down to a turtle's pace or is freezing.

That's quite a load you're putting on it at one time.

    I see, gotcha.

Yeah, but usually it doesn't happen when I first had it built.
