Utilizing all the “fixes” I have found on line, including manual installation,
the following Windows 7 Security upgrades have failed multiple times:
    KB 4284826
    KB4100480
    KB 4103718

The June Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 (KB890830) installs without difficulty.

Do the failed upgrades require Internet Explorer 11 to be the default browser? I use
    Goggle Chrome.

No. I have never made IE my default browser.

I don't install the BIG bundle, KB 4284826.
I go to the catalog, download the Security only patch KB 428467.
I did it with no problem on 4 Windows 7 computers.

See if you can download KB428426.

The 64 bit version is the 3rd item in this list.

    Hello Liz:

    KB428426 or KB4284826 ??

3rd item on list is for x86 based systems?

I have delayed the download to insure I am clear about instructions.

    I appreciate your reply.

As with previous attempts with manual installation (see initial post) this message was received:
"The following updates were not installed:
    Security update for Windows (KB4284826)"

I'm going to point you to another site where the folks there are outstanding at getting Windows updates installed.
Look at the site and read a few Windows 7 update problems and if you feel comfortable, register and post your problem as June update will not install. Mention it is Windows 7 and also that you tried manually and it too fails.

    forum (update problem section): https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/

I'm a member there so anything you see posted by plodr, that's me. I don't work on the update section - I don't have enough knowledge to be able to troubleshoot all the possible problems.
