Last night my Widows 7 Ultimate laptop was working fine. I remember a windows update coming through about a security update. It completed loading and then I shut off my computer. Brought it into work to use and when it booted, the windows ultimate 7 blue screen showed up, there was a "please wait". Then the mouse pointer came on but no windows to click to log on or my face recognition screen. I heard the start up music play also.

I am able to boot in safe mode and access all files. So I am copying my files to an external hard drive.

The only recent updates that I can find are Adobe reader and Microsoft.net framework 4 client profile.

Any suggestions on what went wrong and how to fix this?

    Thank you,

    Kevin

    Hi,
    Welcome to TSG,
You can do System Restore as a general fix but if the problem may or may not come back if the update installed again. How it acts right now shows more about video problem. The updates may had conflict with your video driver or utility. you can update your video driver or uninstall/reinstall it. Also make sure that dual display is not enable on your video utility.
