I put the x86 version of the Win8 Dev Tools today. I opened the iso and ran it, it auto boots me in win8. It says on their website that you can restore it, but my old system is located @ C:/wndows.old. Can I get help on going back to XP. Thanks in advance.

you need to format & reinstall XP

you should have read the webpage carefully before installing W8

It might have backed up XP but you can't boot to it any longer. You can hopefully copy off nay vital documents etc that are needed before you format & reinstall XP

Is that computer the HP you have listed in your "Computer Specifications"?

If it is, advise what model name and model number it is, and advise what the product number on the sticker is.

If you're lucky, there may be a recovery disc kit still available for it - unless you already have one.

You're not the first one here who's trashed their computer by being curious about Windows 8.
