Hello I'm taking a hardware class and was ask to submit a question to this web site to get informed with tech blogs. Any suggestions for the question below. Thank you Pfeiffer
I have a 5-6 year old HP/Compaq laptop. I installed a new hard drive and I cannot install new OS. It sounds like it is reading the cd but nothing happens.

What's the complete model number of that HP Compaq laptop?
    What's the exact part/product number(P/N) on it?

What's the Windows version and bit version on that disc that you're trying to install?
Is that disc an original retail or OEM one or is it a copied one?

Is the new hard drive recognized in the BIOS setup screen?

You forgot to ask a question. But it doesn't matter, 'cause we don't usually do class problems. Oh, and we are not a "tech blog." Closing.
