Hello. I am installing windows 98se and when trying to format the new hard drive, i can't format making bootable (format c: /s) due to insufficient memory. i ran a typical format (format c:) and now i'm wondering if there is another way to make the hard drive bootable after formatting...maybe another command to use or something. Any help is great help.

You do not need to format with the /s switch to install Windows nor is there any reason to make the drive bootable.

My general suggestion these days is to just:

    1. Boot with a floppy that will let you access your CD ROM
    2. Copy the source files from the CD to a directory on your hard drive
    3. Install from that directory
