I am having problems with Win98se shutdown. I have downloaded every patch and suppliment I can find, however, when I shut down, I still get the
"it is now safe to turn off your computer" message.

What do I need to do to solve this problem and make the system complete the shutdown?

    Thanks

The power off function after shutdown is not controlled by windows since windows is long gone by that time. The power off functions is controlled by the BIOS. You may want to try entering the BIOS and turning off\disabling the "Power Management" function to see if that corrects the problem.

Did this function work before and if so have you added or updated any hardware lately?
