i have just installed windows 8 on my laptop...a dua setup with windows 7. I always have ubuntu on my machines...so i have one more OS to install ...Ubuntu 12.04..

But i have a problem...i want to maintain the nice blue menu that windows is giving me for OS selection.
I know after i install Ubuntu it will disappear and i will be seeing the brown Ubuntu grub loader....

Anybody know a way i can maintaint the windows 8 OS menu?

I thought you previously had Ubuntu - dual booted with Windows 8
as on that topic you were asking about reinstalling 8 and how to keep the Ubuntu - as it was

Many people have encountered problems, but nearly all have been when 8 was pre-installed on OEM computers as the only operating system

Ubuntu 12.10 is readily installable on computers with UEFI instead of the traditional BIOS

Earlier editions of Ubuntu will not install on UEFI and legacy boot must be enabled.

The same link as I sent you before deals with all of these issues.
    http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/11/05/dual-boot-windows-8-and-ubuntu-12-10-on-uefi-hardware/

and here is some additional information
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI

WOULD YOU PLEASE MARK your other topic solved
    http://forums.techguy.org/windows-8/1086686-re-install-windows-keep-ubuntu.html

by clicking on the Mark Solved button.

I as I said on the other topic have a triple boot with 8, 7 and XP
I have dual booted with Ubuntu on a number of occasions but not with 8
Whatever I was trying I would not proceed until I had the security of a full image, of the system as it exists NOW with 8 and 7

    Thanks

It is now some four days since you asked for advice re Ubuntu in dual boot.
I wondered if you have made any progress
A reply to your topic would be greatly appreciated
