All of a sudden windows cannot read any CD's or DVD's - initially I thought the problem was with the drive but I can boot from the CD ROM and can burn data onto a CD, I have tried another DVD drive and multiple types of CD'S & DVD's. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the drives but still have had no success, any help would be appreciated.

Oh I have an IBM Thinkpad the drives are hot swappable and I have tried both CD's & drives in a friends Thinkpad and they work fine... go figure
