I always update my Windows XP when tagged that updates are available. Would I have this critical update or do I have to do that manually?

    Thanks!

Are you referring to the Announcement in red? If you go to Add/Remove Programs and have the Show Updates box checked (top center of window), then KB958644 will be listed under "Windows XP - Software Updates" if it is installed.

Sorry, didn't mean to be vague. Juju was right - I'm talking about the announcement at the top of the forum in red by dvk01. I'll look to see if I have that one installed.

If you have Automatic Updates enabled you will almost certainly have that patch by now (I don't allow AU but got it from the Update site as soon as it was announced).

You can easily check on your update status by running the Secunia Online Inspector; http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/ (you will need Sun Java installed for this to work) or Belarc Advisor; http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html (this needs to be updated every month to keep up with Microsoft's patching cycle).
