For some reason, my windows refuses to display the default folder icon anymore. I tried the simple fix of right clicking, properties, change icon etc. but even though i select the icon i want, it refuses to display it.

    Here's what it looks like:

    Any suggestions?

    Try this:
    Start > Run > type "regsvr32 /i shell32"

Nah_Roots, If the problem isn't corrected try this:

Start your computer in SAFE mode then estart it in Normal mode. This will rebuild the iconcache.db file and may correct the problem.

You could also download Tweak UI at the link below. After you install it you'll find it in Satrt>Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI. Open it and under Repair then choose Rebuild Icons.

Even if it is fixed, install Tweak UI. Being that it is a microsoft program, it works with windows so much better than any other "tweaking" software. It's sooo awesome.
