    hi all,

not sure what's wrong, it's been since yesterday that my PC won't start. The first thing I did was to use the windows start CD and followed the procedure suggested here http://www.tomshardware.com/news/win7-windows-7-mbr,10036.html

I went on the BIOS changed the Hard drive BBS to the SSD, and normal HHD, nothing..
oi reboted from the CD i did select the command prompt recovery tool, and
executed the bootrec.exe /FixMbr, which worked, but then the PC still doesn't load windows....

Any input is welcome, thank you!

    Hi number,

What did you do the day/night before the PC stopped booting? Any software or hardware changes?

Also, are you able to boot into Safe Mode?

What is the furthest screen you get to when booting up the PC?

    hi TheShooter93 ,

thanks for your interest. To answer your questions:

I haven't installed anything new. My only worry is that it's been a few months that the battery of my laptop hasn't worked well, i was suggested to replace it, and i have to keep it always charged with the wire. And the fan was often always on and high... not sure if this could be a problem. Then i opened up to see if maybe it was dusty, but it was rather clean.

Actually i didn't try to boot on safe mode :/ I used the PC's windows disk to see if i was able to recover something but i didn't manage to do it.

Please see the attached screenshot about my recovery attempts.

    Many thanks!

Boot with the 7 CD/DVD again and run Startup Repair (as shown on your first screen-shot). That should fix it, if not the first time you run it do it again.

EDIT : when it reboots after doing the repair don't press a key to boot from CD/DVD, let it boot from the SSD (I assume that 7 is on the SSD ?).
