I have Win2000 pro installed. Some time ago, an error appeared. When I left-click on any folder or file (to open it), the error says "Explorer.exe has caused an error and needs to shutdown". I generally reboot at this point but if I ignore it, at some point my Active Desktop stops and I need to reboot and restore it. If I right-click on the item and then click on 'Explore', it works OK with no error. I have another computer with Win2000 Pro and copied the file Explorer.exe from the other computer to the faulty one but that did not fix the problem. Any other ideas??
