I cannot find Windows Explorer. The shortcut in all programs/acessories has disappeared. The only way I can access Explorer is by going to search and typing in Windows Explorer. Can anyone tell me how to put the shortcut back ?

You might try downloading and installing TweakUI for your O/S. XP? Win2000? Then use the repair Icon setting.

I do know the "target" for Windows Explorer is: %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,c:\ In this case though, in XP this will not only open Windows Explorer but it will open it to the expanded C drive instead of the My Documents Folder.

I have found that if you do that search, and right click on the icon that is based in c:\windows, then you can create a shortcut and drop it on the desktop. Then you can drop it in any menu. The downside is that it is a different icon, but you can change that of course in the shortcut properties, (right click again) and on the shortcut tab, press change icon.
    Should work for you:)

Thanx that worked. I didn't think about sending it to the desktop and then dragging and dropping it from the desktop to programs\accessories. It worked. So simple, I feel stupid now!
