Ok I had no problems Installing XP Home on my computer and after it reboots it goes to the XP Logo and freezes. I am not sure why but if anyone can help me please do.

    This is what I have:

    M2N-SLI DELUXE motherboard
    1 GByte ddr2 ram
    200gb hdd
    Amd athlon 64 x2 4800+ 2.4 GHz socket am2

and right now I am reformating the pc and starting again to see if that helps.

Off the top of my head, the only things I can think of that would cause this after a reinstall is either a bad install, or a hardware issue (especially hard drive, memory or motherboard).

Quick question, is the CD scratched or smudged, or does the CD drive have any problems?

You can download Memtest86+ to test your RAM for any errors. Let it run for a couple of hours.

For your hard drive, go to your specific hard drive manufacturers website (Seagate, Western Digital and Maxtor are the main ones I know of), and download the diagnostic software for the model hard drive.
