This is further to a thread that was expired in the spring of 2012

Windows installer launched incessantly on boot. Left to itself nothing ever comes up to install or gets installed. This began after removing a rootkit and a dozen puptracker malware instances from this machine.

Ran CCleaner, sophos antirootkit and numerous other cleanup utilities and still have the problem.
Most recent thing I ran was MacAfee Removal Tool ( Macafee has not been on this machien in ages)
but I still have the problem. Please, any help very appreciated.

Opening add/remove programs seems to prompt the Windows Installer popup.

Why haven't you updated your system to SP3 yet?

You also have two versions of Java Runtime Environment running. Uninstall all old versions and only keep the latest one.

You should run the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool again to remove the McAfee leftovers I see in your log.
