When you go to install Sygate firewall, it begins installing ,then stops with an error. Can't find msiexe file? You go searching for the file and find it in numerous places. The extension on it is EX_? Somewhere I read that this could be a compressed file with that extension. This program however ,requires that windows file ,to install itself. The file seems to be unrecognizable to windows according to the message. Also , when I start up windows, I get a "windows install" window come up with nothing in it. Like it is trying to install something. Something must be initiating that, just do not know what.Everything else seems to install fine. Just this doesn't. With windows firewall on or off it makes no difference. Turning all startup programs off makes no difference. it seems to be related to that file specifically (msiexe.EX_ file). I am running XP2 , HP Media Center PC M370n, 2.8 ghz, 512 DDR ram. Does anyone have a clue about this problem?

i would goto the microsoft downloads page and search for windows installer for XP and that should fix it, one of my friends had a similar problem, but it was a 98 machine, and that update fixed it
