windows installer runs unexpectedly

    everytime windows starts, windows installer pops up and tries to install winxp professional, but i'm using winxp home edition and don't have winxp professional cd, so i have to cancel it. What should i do now? here is my Hijackthis log, please tell me what to do

    sorry, i made a mistake. It prepares to install Microsoft Office Professional, not WinXp Professional

    Just for fun, can you try turning it off via start, run, msconfig, startup tab......uncheck both of them, then restart and see if the same thing happens.....if it does, then go back and recheck them.

    it still happens. i think the it's the problem with Microsoft Office XP. When i start WinWord, the same window pops up again.

    Per chance, when you installed it, did you choose to run it from the cd? Instead of installing it to the hard drive?

    my dad installed it a long time ago, and it didn't have any problem until now. I think i'm gonna reinstall it. Is it safe to do that?

    Can't hurt. Just install to same directory. You might choose a 'repair installation.'
