windows installer

    im running windows xp service pack 2. a few weeks ago i had a power cut and my computer turned itself off. ever since then i have lost my microsoft office system restore and every time i try to open a program e.g. windows live messenger or internet explorer, a box saying windows installer flashes on screen and in the box says preparing to install. it doesnt install anything but when it has finished it opens the program this happens every time i open or start a program. how can i get it all back and get the windows installer box to stop appearing? thanks coombsy

    Have you tried System Restore to a Date before this happened....

    yer i keep restoring to different days but still this stuff keeps happening duno what to do ne ideas?

    try this reinstall widows office if that dose not work then, uninstall ALL of widows office plus delete temp folder and delete all of windows prefetch this should get rid if the installer what happen part of the office suite with get corruped and it will want you to reinstall them now you can reinstall what you need
