just discoverd today that my windows XP keeps on sending data packets I dont know where it is sending. With this the computer cant print to a network server. What could possibly be the cause of this. Please enlighten me. Got no clue on what to do.

Enable ICF if not already enabled. If yor computer is mysterically sending packets this could be a sign of a virus and a possible Hijack. If you think this i think you should post a HJT log in the security forum.

By the this only happens to my Windows XP workstations but with Windows 2000 Pro i doesnt. If it is a virus it would have spread right away right??

google search for "hijack this download". Click the first one with should be MajorGeeks. Download from there.

    1. Run HJT when downloaded
    2. Do a system scan and save a logfile
    3. Post that logfile (copy and paste) into a new thread in the cyber safety forum.
