I have read Phantom's link to email spoofing. Following all the frustrating posters that have had similar problems, it has led me to question whether anything can be done for my poor wife. She has used her email at live.com for about 2 years now. Starting two days ago she has been a victim of spoofing if I read it correctly. Her email contact list all received an email with a link to a prescription link to Viagara, with the title in the subject line OPA. It went out again last night. All the live.com online help says "change password" etc. If it is spoofing then that's not gonna help correct? If not, is there anything she can do or is she going to have to toast that email account? She uses it for self-employment :(

If I am reading everything correctly, then it does not matter which email provider you choose (Yahoo, Live, etc) spoofing will possibly take place. Are there any precautions to prevent it from happening? I am assuming it comes from signing up for something and then that list gets taken, etc.
