have you copied the WLM folder across from the old harddrive ?

Can you explain what you have done on the New Harddrive ?

The tech guy that changed the hard disk cloned the old one to the new
The only programs that damaged were WLM and internet explorer

I dont know why the clone has not worked
unless there was a problem with when the clone was made

    you can reinstall WLM
    or repair

    goto control panel
    Uninstall programs
    Windows Essentials
    Uninstall/change
you have a repair option there
    OR
you can install and re-install windows essentials - Windows livemail

Backup the windows live mail data first
OR better still - you should have a backup of all your data
