Windows Live Mesh issues

    I use WLM to keep my desktop and laptop synced since I use them both equally. However, I've noticed something that's a bit annoying, and I don't know if it's possible to fix. If I extensively edit my documents folder on my desktop, say remove a bunch of folders, put new files in there, rearrange some stuff, next time my laptop tries to sync with the desktop, it puts it all back how it was the first time, while either overwriting the new files or just ignoring them.

    I also use it to keep my music libraries synced, and every time it tries to sync the libraries, it takes the laptop's music (the older version of it) and puts it on top of the desktop one (my up to date one), thereby reverting my music library back a couple weeks or so.

    Is there a way to make one computer the "parent" computer, where any changes I make will be copied to the laptop, and only new files from the laptop will be brought over? And if this is just how it works, any suggestions on a similar service to keep things synced? I change way to much day-to-day to make manually doing it feasible.
