    Uninstall and re-install?

If that doesn't work download and run Spybot and AVG anti-virus to check if you've got any viruses poking about.

    Salmo is right.

Uninstall Messenger, and reinstall the latest version. I have a feeling it may take care of the problem.

Those 2 programs Salmo mentioned are the must for any computer. Both are free software and both are awesome.

AVG WILL catch a virus in your messenger if any. Even if after re-installing Messenger it will work fine still I suggest to download both these softwares.

You can use CNET (download.com) - it's a very reliable source.

    Good luck to you.
