For the record, I'm just 16 years old, I'm putting it our there as an excuse for why I say so many things I'm not 100% on.

I'm sure some of you have had conversations such as this before.

What do you think is better.

    Did Microsoft STEAL Windows?

Who in this IM is the bigger idiot.

    (I am Ninja Lemur SP)

I apologize for the spelling errors.

    Docjohnson11: G5 is first 64 bit proccessor
Ninja Lemur SP: And it's already been owned
Ninja Lemur SP: There's already another computer out
    Ninja Lemur SP: that's faster
    Docjohnson11: no there isnt
Ninja Lemur SP: I'll show you
    Docjohnson11: ok
Ninja Lemur SP: Dual 2 ghz G5
    Ninja Lemur SP: OWNED
Ninja Lemur SP: By Proc Athlon 64
    Ninja Lemur SP: http://www.pcworld.com/news/article...749,pg,8,00.asp
    Docjohnson11: ok i see link
    Docjohnson11: dont see it yet
Docjohnson11: microsoft and pc are playin catch up to macs now
Ninja Lemur SP: Athlon 64 vs. Apple G5 Systems: Not Even Close (chart)
Apple Power Macs did well on Photoshop, but the 64-bit AMD-based systems won handily on most tests.

Ninja Lemur SP: That's the artical name
    Docjohnson11: oh ok
    NinjaLemurSP wants to directly connect.
    Docjohnson11 is now directly connected.
    Ninja Lemur SP:
Ninja Lemur SP: talk in here
    Docjohnson11: ok
    Ninja Lemur SP: While they
Docjohnson11: mac diverifed like gateway did
    Ninja Lemur SP: Windows machines
    Docjohnson11: ipod itunes
Ninja Lemur SP: ANYONE can make windows machines
    Ninja Lemur SP: Even you
    Ninja Lemur SP: Different manufactures
    Docjohnson11: yea but windose sux
Ninja Lemur SP: make different parts
Ninja Lemur SP: in order to make windows machines
Ninja Lemur SP: And the only person that makes apples
    Ninja Lemur SP: ....
    Ninja Lemur SP: Is apple
Ninja Lemur SP: If you want to make your own, you can't
Docjohnson11: not all the parts tho
Ninja Lemur SP: There is no such thing as
    Docjohnson11: there is
Ninja Lemur SP: a custom Mac
    Ninja Lemur SP: well
    Ninja Lemur SP: there is
Docjohnson11: only diff is the mother board
Ninja Lemur SP: It's called a Macenstein
Ninja Lemur SP: You have to buy the motherboard from Apple
    Docjohnson11: yes
    Ninja Lemur SP: Yes
Ninja Lemur SP: in windows machines
Ninja Lemur SP: you can buy motherboards
Ninja Lemur SP: that vary from board to board
Ninja Lemur SP: To best customize
    Docjohnson11: true
Ninja Lemur SP: what is what you need
Ninja Lemur SP: This is the same thing that happened to TI
Docjohnson11: did u know mac was fist out w/ a mouse?
    Ninja Lemur SP: Yes
Ninja Lemur SP: and windows machines improved on them
    Docjohnson11: first digital camera?
    Docjohnson11: first pda
Ninja Lemur SP: Did you know that innovation means nothing in the current market it it was an innovation 10 years ago
Docjohnson11: first windows bill gates stole it from mac
Ninja Lemur SP: No, Windows wasn't stolen from mac
Docjohnson11: mac is still the inovtor tho
Ninja Lemur SP: He had partners who made it
    Docjohnson11: it sure was
Ninja Lemur SP: And they tried to sell it to IBM
    Docjohnson11: he stole it
Ninja Lemur SP: IBM said get the hell out
    Ninja Lemur SP: Artical?
    Docjohnson11: history chanel show
Ninja Lemur SP: Mac is now,
    Ninja Lemur SP: About style
    Ninja Lemur SP: not innovation
    Docjohnson11: lol ur dead wrong
    Ninja Lemur SP: Mac
    Ninja Lemur SP: was ALSO
Ninja Lemur SP: the first computer to have USB ports
Docjohnson11: way ahead of the curve for inovation still
Docjohnson11: and firewire 3 yrs ago
    Docjohnson11: now firewire 800
Ninja Lemur SP: There is a difference between stealing an idea, and taking the premice and improving on it, if you think improving on an unpatented invention is wrong
Ninja Lemur SP: You would be cooking things over a fire now
Docjohnson11: its stealing just like getting music files
Ninja Lemur SP: If you can find an artical
Docjohnson11: then no one patented the idea for downloading mp3 but its still ileagal
Ninja Lemur SP: about Micro soft
Ninja Lemur SP: stealing from mac
    Ninja Lemur SP: BTW
Ninja Lemur SP: Did you know
Ninja Lemur SP: Microsoft didn't steal windows from mac, because............................................................................
Ninja Lemur SP: Microsoft wasn't a corporation when it was invented
    Docjohnson11: dead wrong they did
Ninja Lemur SP: It was some guys that made it in their basement, pretty much
Ninja Lemur SP: They would have had to be spies
    Docjohnson11: M$ been around since 75
Docjohnson11: gates was friends w/ jobs way back
Ninja Lemur SP: and how long has Mac been around
    Docjohnson11: since 73
Ninja Lemur SP: if you can't show me an artical
Ninja Lemur SP: to back up the story
Ninja Lemur SP: I can ask some 1337 computer people
    Docjohnson11: why not 1400 even???
    Ninja Lemur SP: hey
    Ninja Lemur SP: lol
    Ninja Lemur SP: Another thing
Ninja Lemur SP: Mac never used DOS
    Ninja Lemur SP: And Windows
Ninja Lemur SP: runs over dos
Ninja Lemur SP: DOS was the heart of Windows
Docjohnson11: cuz gates got dos cheap
Ninja Lemur SP: and Dos was the invention
Ninja Lemur SP: that was created
Docjohnson11: no the final version window pop ups was macs
Ninja Lemur SP: Windows operating system, was never the idea of Mac, if it was, there would me lawsuits
Ninja Lemur SP: There are emulators
Ninja Lemur SP: on mac machines
    Docjohnson11: do the homework
Ninja Lemur SP: that give the illusion of a windows machine
Ninja Lemur SP: I am right now
Docjohnson11: gene armellino agreed to give gates windows
Ninja Lemur SP: You find the artical
    Ninja Lemur SP: Ok
Ninja Lemur SP: It went from STOLEN
    Ninja Lemur SP: To Gave
Docjohnson11: its in history of macs
    Ninja Lemur SP: I see...........
    Ninja Lemur SP: Right
Ninja Lemur SP: First they stole
    Docjohnson11: NO STLOEN
Ninja Lemur SP: then they gave
Ninja Lemur SP: But you said gene armellino
    Ninja Lemur SP: gave
Ninja Lemur SP: make up your mind
Docjohnson11: yes he talked to gates about it is correct version
    Docjohnson11: the gates STLOE it
Ninja Lemur SP: Docjohnson11: gene armellino agreed to give gates windows
    Docjohnson11: give it up

Mac claims to be the first 64bit machine, that's not true.

Opteron beat the G5 to market by four months
And the AMD chips are MUCH better than G5 according to all the benchmarks I've seen.

As for the Apple vs Windows argument. It doesn't matter.

Xerox invented most of the stuff they both use in PARC (Palo Alto Researc Center) and failed to see the future in it and gave it to Steve Jobs

    Here's a book on that

The windows interface was stolen from xerox. The mouse from IBM.. Macintosh came about when Steve Jobs got into a arguement with Bill Gates and split off from Microsoft.. As far as which ones better, it depends on your personal preferrence, and what job it's used for. I actually prefer linux, but there's a better (more refined) selection of software for windows. If I could get all my software to run on linux I would.. I don't use both, because then I'd be wasting valuable hard drive space, which I never have enough of..

You should also know that most of the windows interface today was stolen from other operating systems, sun unix, linux, mac, and others.. To be fair, other operating systems also stole desktop element designs from windows..

Wine works okay, but you kinda get tired of it when you start playing a game and buttons are missing from the interface.... Wine is always a gamble whether it's going to work right or not..

Lets face it, if you want to play new windows games or software, you need either VMware or a dual boot with windows.. Both of which eat up drivespace..

In actuality, even if the opteron didn't beat the G5 to market, it still wasn't the first 64bit PC, you could buy an Alpha powered PC running WinNT4 for under $2000 back in 1998...

Yep the alpha was out before intel or mac but in the 1970's you could buy a CDC 6400 mainframe that had a 64bit processor for only 2 million. Quite cheap for that time.

    Cheers
