i am facing very irritating and strange problem in my windows Me. my
Explorer stops responding, in other words when i double click "My
computer", "My Documents" or any folder nothing happens. there seems no
problem in hardware because during above stated situation if i open any
other application like winamp, turbo C++, edit plus etc.. they work
without any major problem but once i try to open internet explorer,
only the upper part of browser appears rest of the screen is blank
white and system hangs. now at this stage i have to endtask explorer
but even after that no gud happens untill i uncheack all startup
    programs and restart my computer.

this problem usually starts when the system is on but i m not using it
or only songs r played on it.

but unfortunately now even uncheaking of startup programs does not help
my cause. so i have to practice hit and trial by removing some specific
programs of startup and keep on restarting my system

kindly help me in dis regard ASAP
    thankz in adv.

    sir
IEFix has helped me to some extent. but even now when my system is on(i.e. playing songs but i am not using it like i am just listening to music) it freezes after sometime and at this state even if i endtask explorer the same problem occurs in internet explorer and i finally have to restart my system. now i run IEFix to make my system run properly
thats why i am saying that to some extent it helped me as now i dont have to bang my head with startup items. but still if u ppl can help me further to completely eliminate my problem i'll really appreciate it

    thankz in adv.

1 more thing my explorer also also freezes while i am browsing like when i right clicked 1 link on this forum n then "open in new window" nothing happened and same problem occured sometimes even restart does not help as i am unable to open the folder in which
IEFix is stored. so its still very tuff for me to use my computer effectively

Hi..can't see any bad entries in your log [but not a log expert]
Once your log is given the all clear..you can reduce your start up list..
    Minimum needed in Win ME..
    Scan registry..
    System tray..
    State Mgr..
    Antivirus program..
    Firewall..
Wait until your log is given the all clear..before making changes..
