i have overclocked my cpu from 350 to 373 MHz, i figured i could just start windows but i would either get windows protection BSoDs or it would just shutdown, do i have to reinstall windows, or id there a way to get ME to boot?

You have probably made that old CPU unstable by overclocking it. I believe if you now increase the voltage in steps of .1V at a time you may get it stable again, but you will have to watch the heat.

Depends what processor you have but I think temps much higher than 60ÂșC will cause it to cut out, so be carefull as you may fry it beyond repair.

You may find you need a better cooler.

    I'm guessing that's a 1998 model desktop that came with Windows 98 pre-installed.

Throttle it back down to 350 MHz and then hope you didn't do any permanent damage.

How much RAM do you have in that "dinosaur"?

Windows ME should have at least 128 MB.
