I use Windows Vista on an IBM/Lenovo laptop, but recently, I had my hardrive transferred to another machine which I'm borrowing while my one is in for repair (it used to crash sometimes). Anyway, this one I'm using now is, of course, also an IBM/Lenovo one but I think it's a slightly higher model (it's an R61, whatever that means!).

Now, I have about 1400 songs on my Windows Media Player 11 library. All the .mp3s work and all my iTunes files work, but that isn't much. Basically, none of my .wma files will play; it just comes up with a red 'x' next to the title of the song and then a message saying:

"Windows Media Player has encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help." (which wasn't very helpful.)

Like I said, I am only borrowing this laptop because I need one for university, so I really don't want to have to re-upload all of my music just to do it all again when I get my own laptop back.

Is there anything I can do in the meantime just to get my music playing? I've already tried Windows Update and playing the files through my external hardrive, but that hasn't worked either.
