    Hello all,

I have my main media desktop in the living room setup to share the meda on the "E:" drive. On my Windows 7 laptop using WMP12 i am able to find the shared media library and access for playback. However I am having a difficult time trying to do the same on my other desktop in my room running XP WMP11. I cant seem to find out how to stream the media files from the living room desktop via the WMP11? is this even possible, or is there a software i could use to do this if WMP11 does not support it? i tried XBMC but i keep receiving playback error. I wish there was a WMP12 for XP to make things easier but unfortunately there isnt :(

    please help..

    thank [email protected]

thanks for the prompt reply. I have downloaded VLC great software i must say. Now my question is, how do i configure VLC to look for the media share? for example my PS3 and windows 7 WMP12 laptop is able to discover the Media share library. How do i configure VLC to do the same so that i can playback the media on the shared library?

    Thank you again!
